The sequel to Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia’s 2019 movie, The Platform 2 is now out on Netflix — and it is our Watch of the Week.

It is the identical idea as the unique: in a multi-level jail, sufficient meals for each prisoner is lowered on a platform from high to backside by way of the cells — sure, chaos ensues. Mashable’s Sam Haysom writes in his evaluate, “One of the reasons I love The Platform is the way it shows humanity at its best and worst. The script is moving at times, terrifying at others. Gaztelu-Urrutia’s direction draws out this hope and horror in the performers, all of whom are raw and believable. Azegiñe Urigoitia’s production design is a nightmarish work of art.”

Should you’re hungry for extra hospitality-based thrills after The Bear, sink your enamel into Home of Spoils. Although be warned for those who’re anticipating an analogous serving of Chicago’s Italian beef, as Mashable’s Belen Edwards writes in her evaluate: “A darkish fairy story with culinary chunk, Home of Spoils dives into one chef’s pursuit of perfection, a theme viewers may most lately affiliate with The Bear or The Menu. However make no mistake, Home of Spoils‘ similarities to these tasks begin and finish with the truth that they happen in a high-end restaurant.”

Written and directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, Home of Spoils sees West Facet Story‘s Ariana DeBose enjoying Chef (simply Chef), who’s recruited to work in a rural eatery run by restaurateur Andreas (Succession‘s Arian Moayed). However one thing mysterious is afoot…

Greg Jardin’s genre-fusing thriller It is What’s Inside is one such movie, promising a gaggle of school buddies, a pre-wedding celebration sport, and an entire lot of body-swapping that results in an existential mind-fuck. In his evaluate, Mashable contributor Siddhant Adlakha wrote, “Wielding devilishly enjoyable visual language, it provides winking hints of catharsis that make even its most audacious, galaxy-brained genre swerves feel like a couple’s therapy session atop the world’s tallest, fastest rollercoaster. It’s a frenetic and fascinating film that can’t be missed.”*
