Functions for the 2026 Vilcek Basis Prizes for Inventive Promise in Trend & Tradition and Trend & Design at the moment are open to immigrants beneath the age of 38. The Vilcek Basis will award six $50,000 prizes to younger immigrants who’ve demonstrated distinctive early-career achievements within the fields of Trend & Design and Trend & Tradition.
Trend is a mirrored image of cultural shifts and serves as a robust type of self-expression. From hair and clothes to jewellery and make-up, trend traits communicate volumes a couple of time and place in society. Immigrants enrich the style business by contributing their distinctive traditions, views, and types.
By way of the Vilcek Prizes for Inventive Promise in Trend, the inspiration goals to convey consciousness to the numerous methods trend—and the immigrants working in fashion-related fields—make our society higher.
“Winning [this prize] was an incredible honor and a deeply personal milestone,” says Siki Im, winner of the 2015 Vilcek Prize for Inventive Promise in Trend. “It recognized not only my creative journey but also the unique perspective I bring as an immigrant in the fashion industry. Today, as barriers seem more prevalent, the Vilcek Prize serves as a powerful reminder and mediator of who built and continues to push the United States forward—a nation shaped by the talent, creativity, and resilience of immigrants.”
The Vilcek Basis has created two trend classes to develop the variety of awards given to immigrants within the arts and humanities. Immigrants 38 years of age or youthful who work within the following trend fields are inspired to use:
