“Today” show anchor and meteorologist Dylan Dreyer is saying goodbye to the weekend team in a snowy fashion.

Outside the studio in York City’s Saturday winter storm conditions, Dreyer remotely joined Weekend “Today” cohosts Morgan Radford and Peter Alexander as they announced it was Dreyer’s last day on the weekend news program.

“It’s really bittersweet to step away. I want to say thank you to everyone at weekend “Today” who actually gave me a chance on the show,” Dreyer said. “I really don’t want to step away but I don’t think I can do six days a week anymore.”

The 40-year-old mom of three will continue to cohost the third hour of the “Today” show along with Craig Melvin, Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones during the weekdays. In addition, she also hosts NBC’s “Earth Odyssey with Dylan Dreyer” and Sirius XM’s “Off The Rails” podcast.

After being asked what she is planning to do on her first work-free Saturday, Dreyer said she wishes she “could wake up at her own pace,” noting her busy weekends at home.

“Even today as soon as I’m done here I’m probably going to make pancakes for the boys, so it’s all about family time,” Dreyer said. “These boys are my whole life.”

Dreyer and her husband Brian Fichera welcomed their third son, Russell James Fichera, in September six weeks before his due date. Their eldest two sons are Calvin, 5, and Oliver, 2.

The mom of three has been open about her struggles with secondary infertility — a term used to describe the inability to become pregnant or carry a second baby to term after previously giving birth.

After having Calvin, Dreyer and Fichera had trouble conceiving again and were planning to try in vitro fertilization. The couple spoke candidly about their pregnancy journey on “Today” and through Dreyer’s personal essay, saying that they decided to share their story to shut down the stigma.

“I just want people to know that I’m going through it, too,” she said.

Dreyer joined “Today” in 2012 after leaving Boston’s NBC affiliate WHDH-TV.
