It’s Prime Day 2022, and the shopping editors at Yahoo, Engadget, In the Know and Autoblog are working hard to report on the best deals as they launch. And that’s a good thing: This year, the sales will be even better than usual, because Amazon, and other top retailers like Walmart, Target, Best Buy are motivated to move overstock merchandise and make space for fresh products. “Even retailers that have been notorious for never doing big sales are offering discounts because they have so much inventory that they need to clear out,” Rakuten’s Retail & Shopping Expert, Kristen Gall, tells Yahoo Life. “So it’s a consumer’s market this year.”

  • Nothing makes my lips more pillowy-soft and kissable than the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask. Just ask my boyfriend! TMI? I really don’t care because the internet’s favorite lip mask is just that good. While it’s normally a splurge at a hefty $24 for only 0.7 oz., Amazon secretly pulled through and marked down the viral K-Beauty lip mask to $16.80. Honestly? This is such a steal. Using hero ingredients like shea butter, glycerin, hyaluronic acid and dimethicone, the lip mask features “moisture wrap technology” to lock in moisture. Plus, there are so many yummy flavors.

If that sounds like the kind of thing you’re looking for, top brand Nalgene is offering a sweet deal on its Sustain Tritan Water Bottle during Prime Day.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?

Prime Day is one July 12th and 13th in more than 20 countries. Historically, Prime Day has taken place mid-month, after the July 4th holiday, and in time for back-to-school shopping for states that return to classrooms in late July and early August.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day, which began eight years ago, is Amazon’s biggest shopping event for Prime members. The stellar sale includes markdowns on thousands upon thousands of products: tech, kitchen essentials, vacuums, apparel, beauty must-haves and so much more. And the deals are not only on Amazon — in 2022, just about every other retailer will launch competing sales, making it a strategic day to shop for the best deals outside of Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Some of the biggest deals will be on Amazon Devices, like the Fire TV Stick 4K, and the Echo Dot. Also, Yahoo readers’ most purchased products last Prime Day included Apple AirPods Pro, Crest Whitestrips and Sony WH-CH710N Noise Cancelling Headphones. This year, it’s highly likely you’ll be able to score mega-deals on these items as well — and so much more.

Does Prime Day have sales on everything?

Not everything is on sale for Prime Day, but a lot is. This is usually the day when you’ll find huge discounts on top-rated brands and products you know and love.

Is Prime Day for Prime members only?

Yup. But if you’re not a Prime member, there’s still time to sign up and take advantage of the savings. Prime plans are $14.99 per month (or $139 per year), and you get a free 30-day trial at signup.

Prime member benefits include free two-day shipping and delivery, and same-day or even two-hour shipping for eligible items and locations. It also comes with access to Prime Video, Amazon Music (2 million songs, ad-free!), free two-day delivery on prescriptions from Amazon Pharmacy, free video games via Prime Gaming (formerly Twitch Prime), unlimited full-resolution storage with Amazon Photos and so much more.

You’ll also get exclusive access to deals. Check out all the Amazon Prime 2022 perks here.

Can I get the deals with a free trial membership? If so, How long is the Amazon Prime free trial?

Yes, you can enjoy the perks of Prime Day — and all of the other benefits of being an Amazon Prime member — with the free trial membership. The trial membership is for 30 days.

How do I find the best deals?

There are a few things you can do to score big on your favorite items. The first is to get familiar with the popular pages across the site that typically host the best sales:

  • Deals of the Day: These sales last for a full 24 hours.

  • Lightning Deals: These deals last for only a few hours, while supplies last. Prime members get access to these sales 30 minutes before they go live to the public.

  • Savings and Sales: Ongoing deals throughout the event on select brands and products.

  • Amazon Coupons: You’ll find instant savings in this section.

We also recommend setting up a ‘Wish List’ at Amazon. That way, you’ve identified your must-have items before Prime Day, and once the sales go live, you can add them to your cart stress-free.

If you haven’t already done so, downloading the Amazon app is a must, as it allows you to watch the deals you’re interested in and get notified when they start.
