Scary scene at Thursday’s Tampa Bay Rays recreation … one in all their pitchers, Hunter Bigge, took a line drive foul ball to the face whereas he was within the dugout — resulting in him being carted off the sphere.

All of it went down through the high of the seventh inning. Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman turned on a 3-2 pitch (he was manner forward of it) from Connor Seabold, sending the baseball instantly at Bigge’s face at 105 MPH, knocking him off his ft.

Ruthschman and Gunnar Henderson, who have been within the on-deck circle, instantly reacted to the scary state of affairs. The printed caught followers and gamers on either side involved for the Harvard graduate as medical professionals tended to him.


Fortunately, as he was getting loaded onto the stretcher, Bigge gave the group a thumbs-up earlier than being taken to a neighborhood hospital.

Horrible scene in Tampa, as Rays pitcher Hunter Bigge was hit within the face by a 105 mph foul ball whereas within the dugout.

He was stretchered off the sphere and gave a thumbs up as he exited.

Throughout his postgame press convention, Rays supervisor Kevin Money stated Bigge was coherent and speaking to the doctor — and that he could be monitored because the night time progressed.

“You feel for Hunter and his wife,” Money stated. “I can’t imagine what she and he were going through right there. It was scary for everybody, none more than them.”

Because the saying goes, the sport should go on … and that is precisely what occurred (although everybody’s ideas have been with HB). The Orioles received the sport 4-1 towards their AL East rivals.
