“Do you wanna talk about what happened?” Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) pleads to his wife, Shiv (Sarah Snook) in the first “Succession” Season 4 teaser trailer.
Last we saw Tom, Shiv and the rest of the Roy family cohort, Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) children had banned together to scheme a takedown of the dictatorial patriarch and media mogul – only for Tom to see the writing of his own demise on the wall and warn Logan of what’s to come in the nick of time.

It’s just the latest set-up in a series that has made its name out of the Roy’s inner dramas and back-stabbing machinations. In the lead-up to that final image of Tom and Shiv hashing it out in their hotel room, HBO’s first teaser for Season 4 shows Logan remain iron-fisted in the face of mutiny (“I’m 100 feet tall; these people are pygmies”), while Shiv, Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Kendall (Jeremy Strong) court their public office-seeking eldest brother, Connor (Alan Ruck), to their “rebel alliance.”
“New gen Roys. We have a song to sing,” says Kendall.

A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”
