“Emily in Paris” has a surprising “fan” in Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.
He appeared during “Weekend Update” on “Saturday Night Live” and shared how much of a fan he is of the fish-out-of-water series, which recently premiered its second season on Netflix. American Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) travels to Paris to work at a luxury marketing firm, and in the most recent installment, found herself in a bit of a love triangle with sexy Parisian chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and equally attractive Englishman Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).
“Weekend Update” co-anchor Colin Jost expected Manning to provide football commentary, but the two-time Super Bowl winner couldn’t help but dish on the series. Manning joked instead of watching last week’s games, he binged “Emily in Paris.”

“Oh, my God, Colin! This show has everything!” Manning exclaimed. “Romance, adventure, sensuality, culture, a fresh take on feminism – finally! Not to mention a culinary tapestry so rich, I can only describe it as food porn.”
When Jost tried to turn the topic to Tom Brady’s rumored retirement, Manning wrote it off as “just speculation” and steered the conversation back to his new favorite show: “If it were me, I probably would retire, too, if it gave me more time to watch ‘Emily in Paris.’ “
Manning even broke down the action of the series as if it were a football play using Xs and Os. The X representing Emily had a beret, naturally.

Manning said he’s even a fan of the fashion.
“You know what’s not sitting on the sidelines? The fashion!” he said. “Striped parachute pants, plaid newsboy hat, fur-trimmed cardigan and fingerless driving gloves? She might not be driving a car, but she sure knows how to drive an episode down the field with these lewks. By the way, that’s look, but it’s spelled l-e-w-k.”
At one point, Manning put on a beret himself, defending his decision to skip football for his new obsession. “If I’ve learned anything from Emily, it’s to follow my passions and always be true to myself.”
