Romania has summoned the Russian ambassador to protest over the entry of a Russian drone into its airspace throughout a strike on neighbouring Ukraine over the weekend.

Simply days after a lot of Russian drones have been reported crossing into Poland, one other one flew into Romania on Saturday, drawing additional condemnation from EU leaders.

In an announcement, Romania’s defence ministry condemned Moscow’s actions, saying “they signify a brand new problem to regional safety and stability within the Black Sea space, AFP reported.

“Russia’s incursion into Romanian airspace is once again a blatant violation of EU sovereignty and a serious threat to regional security. We are working closely with Romania and all Member States to protect the EU territory.”

However on Monday morning, Russia sought to deflect the blame pointing at Ukraine as an alternative and claiming, with none proof, that the drone incursion was “a provocation” by Kyiv.

At the moment must also deliver us some first reactions to US president Donald Trump’s “letter to the world” over the weekend, asking Nato allies to utterly halt purchases of Russian oil, implement their sanctions, and be part of him in tariff wars with China.
