Morning opening: Putin is just not stopping
Jakub Krupa
Regardless of pointed criticism from US president Donald Trump, who stated there was “a lot of bullshit is thrown at us” by Vladimir Putin, Russia continued its strikes on Ukraine in a single day with the biggest drone assault of the warfare.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this morning that Russia tried to strike 741 targets with 728 drones and 13 missiles.
The assault was so intensive that neighbouring Poland scrambled its and allied plane to make sure the security of Polish airspace.
He stated:
“This is a telling attack – and it comes precisely at a time when so many efforts have been made to achieve peace, to establish a ceasefire, and yet only Russia continues to rebuff them all.”
Zelenskyy argued that Russia’s persevering with aggression is “yet another proof of the need of sanctions – biting sanctions against oil, which has been fueling Moscow’s war machine with money for over three years of the war.”
He added:
“Our companions know learn how to apply stress in a approach that can drive Russia to consider ending the warfare, not launching new strikes.
Everybody who needs peace should act.”
Individually, we can be wanting on the second day of French president Emmanuel Macron’s state go to in Britain, the most recent from Marseille because it battles harmful wildfires, and updates on US-EU commerce talks.
