The Republican Nationwide Committee sued a number of Georgia counties Saturday alleging they accepted ballots over the weekend with out permitting Republican ballot watchers to look at the method.
“Democrat officials in Georgia are playing fast and loose with election law,” RNC Chairman Michael Whatley wrote Saturday on X. “Fulton, Cobb, DeKalb, and Gwinnett counties decided at the last minute to accept ballots over the weekend – which disregards the law. They have also failed to let our poll observers in to watch the process. The Secretary of State has issued guidance to allow Republican poll watchers in but local officials REFUSE.”
In an announcement posted to X, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger mentioned counties can acquired the absentee ballots so long as it’s accomplished throughout the regulation.

“Under state law, election officials can receive absentee ballots in person at govt facilities if the county chooses,” he wrote. “Several counties have chosen to do this. We are working with the counties and the political parties to ensure this is done transparently and within Georgia law.”
“Georgia voters demand that the state and courts ensure that these reckless counties administer fair, transparent, and secure elections. Anything less undermines public trust,” Whatley mentioned.
