Singer Brenton Wooden, greatest recognized for his 1967 hit “The Oogum Boogum Song,” has died, TMZ has realized.
Wooden’s supervisor and assistant, Manny Gallegos, confirmed the information to TMZ, revealing he handed away in the present day at his Moreno Valley, California residence, surrounded by family and friends.
As of now, his explanation for his demise has not been revealed.
Born Alfred Jesse Smith, he adopted the stage title Brenton Wooden, and made a profession for himself on the soul scene along with his distinctive mix of R&B and pop.
He racked up a string of hits within the ’60s and ’70s, together with the favored tunes, “Gimme Little Sign” and “Baby You Got It.”
Brenton was 83.
