One of many 4 lynx illegally launched into the Scottish Highlands has died in a single day.
The lynx was humanely captured close to Kingussie within the Cairngorms nationwide park on Friday however the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) mentioned it had died in a single day.
A spokesperson for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) mentioned: “We can confirm one of them has died overnight. We will go through a postmortem but we won’t have the results for a few days.”
The reason for dying is at the moment unknown.
The spokesperson mentioned the dying demonstrated the risks of an unplanned launch of lynx within the wild.
