From maple burl, cherry, and ash, Oliver Chalk’s voluminous vessels spotlight pure textures whereas emphasizing alluring patterns and geometry. The Kent-based artist (beforehand) finds chunks of timber within the countryside round his house, homing in on items of bushes which have partly decayed, been minimize by arborists, or had been felled by storms.
