LETTER: DeSantis wants to either be the king or the kingmaker
SHARE

Gov. Ron DeSantis, while he raves against “woke” is himself awakening and fostering bigotry and divisiveness in Florida with comments such as “You have companies like a Disney that are gonna say and criticize parents’ rights, they’re gonna criticize the fact that we don’t want transgenderism in kindergarten and first-grade classrooms,” DeSantis told supporters in a video obtained by Fox News Digital. “If that’s the hill that they’re gonna die on, then how do they possibly explain lining their pockets with their relationship with the Communist Party of China?”

What? DeSantis is now equating Disney with the Communist Party of China? DeSantis is trying on the Trump mantle of dividing all on social issues in order to consolidate his position among the diehard Trumpists who are now ducking for cover as more and more the Trump bromance with Putin is revealed for what it actually is, an abject admiration for authoritarianism in order to grab more power for oneself.

Rather than unite Floridians, DeSantis wants to either be the king or the kingmaker with designs on higher office so that he can join the oligarch class and like Putin begin to appoint and insert oligarchs loyal to him. DeSantis is an educated Trump, he is a business-suited Putin without the KGB lineage, but make no mistake about it DeSantis seeks to divide Floridians and Americans, not unite them.

Florida deserves better than Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis who seek to rifle through your wallet without you knowing about it and enriching themselves while confusing you with their bigoted social messages sung from their faux Christian hymn book.
