At 1/35 scale, Simon Laveuve’s meticulously crafted miniature constructions (beforehand) reveal troves of clues about every dwelling’s absent occupants. From colourful bunting strung between posts to framed photos, Laveuve’s eccentric buildings seem in a spread of states of use in an imagined post-apocalyptic future.
In “Promesse En Solitaire,” or “solitary promise,” a hat just lately deserted on a patio chair suggests the ramshackle island residence is frequently inhabited.
