After Russia’s full-scale invasion, Iryna Khamayko began an academic heart for Ukrainian youngsters in search of refuge in Austria in Might 2022. The concept was clear: to make sure a protected academic surroundings, equip the scholars with German, and ensure they might proceed their schooling.
In 2024 the Free Folks Instructional Hub in Vienna continues to be operating. Two of the varsity’s college students, Lena and Maria, interview Irena Khamayko on this first episode of the Educated Youth podcast sequence. They talk about language limitations, the Austrian faculty system and the challenges of creating buddies in a brand new nation.
This sequence is developed by college students from the Free Folks Instructional Hub– a faculty for younger folks from Ukraine primarily based in Vienna, who’ve been displaced by Russia’s struggle on Ukraine.
