Beginning in an enormous complicated of studios giant and small, a brand new kids’s e-book written by Doro Globus and illustrated by Rose Blake introduces readers to a solid of characters with myriad approaches to creating artwork. There’s an artist who cuts and sews scraps of discovered materials, one other who waxes poetic about an ocean-smoothed stone, and glassblowers who courageous the warmth of the kiln to form supple vessels. Rendered in daring, shiny colours, I Am an Artist asks “What is an artist and how do they work?”
Printed by David Zwirner Books, the newly launched title is the second collaboration between Globus and Blake and follows Making a Nice Exhibition, which launched readers to the extra logistical facet of an artwork profession that, frankly, is mystifying for a lot of adults.
