Scientists found a large underwater mountain. And it is teeming with deep sea life.
An endeavor aboard the Falkor (too) — a 363-foot (111-meter) analysis vessel operated by the Schmidt Ocean Institute — has returned vivid imagery from its newest exploration mission round a wide range of seamounts, together with within the Nazca Ridge, positioned some 900 miles off the coast of Chile.
