As Bridgerton is one of the platform’s most popular titles ever, it was widely expected that there would be some big news to come from the cast in the event on Saturday, 24 September – especially as Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh who plays Lady Danbury, and Nicola Coughlan who plays Penelope Featherington all appeared in the Tudum trailer.

There was a big surprise in store, with Bridgerton writer and producer Shonda Rhimes presenting a clip from the forthcoming series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story giving fans a taste of what is to come.

Andoh and Rosheuvel also introduced India Amarteifio as Young Queen Charlotte and revealed a never-before-seen still of her from the series.

The clip shows Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest as Young King George in their first encounter as Charlotte tries to scale a wisteria plant in a walled garden in a bid to break out of the palace.

No streaming date has yet been announced for the series.

Netflix Tudum, hosted this year by Jamie Foxx, also took in events from the US, Europe, Korea, India and Japan.

Other key moments included an exclusive look at Enola Holmes 2 with Millie Bobby Brown, Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan showing behind the scenes at Heart of Stone, a first look at Shadow and Bone season two, and a trailer for The Crown season five.
