Difficult Gender Norms, a Bolivian Skateboarding Collective Celebrates Indigenous Model

In Cochabamba, Bolivia, a bunch of girls skate boarders are altering attitudes towards Indigenous traditions one kickflip at a time. Donning customary Quechuan clothes like brimmed sombreros and colourful polleras—vast skirts generally worn by Andean ladies—the Imillaskate collective combines a recent sport with time-honored cholita heritage.
