Ekeler didn’t cease there. He added, “Tracking towards being able to play, and that’s a good sign, especially when you’re talking about your head. You want to make sure everything is how it’s supposed to be.”

Whereas Ekeler was sidelined for the Week 4 blowout towards the Arizona Cardinals, Jeremy McNichols stepped up.

Filling in as Brian Robinson Jr.’s backup, McNichols made essentially the most of his 38% of offensive snaps.

He put up a formidable stat line: eight carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns, plus a six-yard catch for good measure.

Nonetheless, with Ekeler’s return on the horizon, it’s doubtless he’ll reclaim his position because the go-to man within the Commanders’ backfield passing sport.
