The members of the family of the suspect in Sunday’s Colorado assault have been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and may very well be deported as early as Tuesday night, based on the White Home.
The spouse and 5 kids of Mohamed Soliman, the suspect within the Boulder assault linked to antisemitism and deemed a terrorist by authorities, are in “ICE custody for expedited removal.”
Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the members of the family of Soliman have been being taken into custody.
Noem assured the general public that Soliman could be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Nevertheless, the secretary added that his household can be below investigation.
“We’re also investigating to what extent his family knew about this horrific attack, if they had any knowledge of it, or if they provided support to it,” Noem stated in a video posted to social media.

Division of Homeland Safety confirmed that Soliman, a 45-year-old from Egypt, overstayed his visa and has remained within the nation “illegally.”
“He entered the country in August 2022 on a B2 visa that expired in February 2023. He filed for asylum in September 2022,” based on Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary for Public Affairs on the Division of Homeland Safety.
The FBI stated Soliman used a “makeshift flame thrower and threw an incendiary device into the crowd” throughout a pro-Israel occasion organized by Run for Their Lives, injuring 12 folks. The group advocates for the return of Israeli hostages being held by Hamas following an Oct. 7, 2023, assault on a Jewish music competition in Gaza.
In keeping with experiences, Soliman was heard yelling, “Free Palestine” throughout the assault.

Soliman faces a number of felony expenses along with a federal hate crime cost. He’s being held within the Boulder County Jail on a $10 million bond. Soliman may face a whole lot of years behind bars if convicted on all expenses.
