The series finale of Black-ish aired Tuesday night, and after eight seasons it was an emotional night for fans. The plot was a whirlwind of closures and new beginnings as the central character, Andre Johnson quit his job and the family moved to a Black neighborhood.
Viewers and fans flooded Twitter with emotional messages of gratitude and celebration

While the series finale followed a few standard tropes, like the characters reminiscing in an empty space, it continued to celebrate and introduce Black culture. For example, the episode ended with the Johnsons, along with the whole neighborhood, having a New Orleans jazz funeral for their old house. Everyone danced and paraded down the street in a celebration of life.
After the show aired, the official Twitter handle sent out a message to the emotional fans.
Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. ❤️ The magic we felt from #blackish will remain for a lifetime. ✨ Here’s to new beginnings and thank you for being a part of the journey. ???????? pic.twitter.com/iUGEgW8mFC
