Beyoncé confirms new album, says pandemic made her rethink every decision

Happy B7 day to all who celebrate!

Beyoncé set the internet ablaze with the announcement of her forthcoming album, Renaissance: act i. The long awaited project will be released on July 29th and appears to be 16 tracks. According to lucky British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, who previewed the album, Renaissance is “music that will unite so many on the dance floor.”

The Bey Hive has been on alert since Beyoncé wiped her social media channels clean earlier this month. Fans got a clue when the Grammy winner’s BeyGOOD Foundation shared a collage of album covers on Twitter to celebrate Black History Month, which included a hand pointing to the cover of Brandy’s 2020 album B7.

Beyoncé did a stunning photoshoot for British Vogue, but in typical Bey fashion, didn’t do a full sit-down interview. She explained that the creation of Renaissance was a long process and that the pandemic gave her more time to spend thinking and rethinking every decision. The journalist previewed the album and teased the following:

Instantly, a wall of sound hits me. Soaring vocals and fierce beats combine and in a split second I’m transported back to the clubs of my youth. I want to get up and start throwing moves. It’s music I love to my core. Music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul. As ever with Beyoncé, it is all about the intent. I sit back, after the wave, absorbing it all.

Fans have been losing it on social media, and rightfully so. Renaissance will be Beyoncé’s first solo album since 2016’s Lemonade. “SHE’S COMING” has been trending on Twitter since the news dropped.
