Occupying vibrant, unearthly environments, Andrew Hem’s characters exude a way of surprise and openness towards the world. The Los Angeles-based artist (beforehand) continues his unbelievable, gravity-defying works that see figures float the wrong way up or amid a sea of jellyfish.

Now a father of two, Hem ceaselessly displays on his Cambodian heritage and the way he’s sharing it along with his youngsters. The artist interprets his delight for his homeland into every portray, rendering figures who’re re-orienting themselves in novel, dreamlike conditions. The largely introspective topics gravitate towards calm and discovering pleasure within the easy and mundane.

Comply with Hem’s work on Instagram.
