Two spirited lambs sure throughout a brand new wooly work by Philadelphia-based artist Holly Guertin. Impressed by a spring go to to a neighborhood farm, Guertin felted a pair of sprightly children with hanging element. Pink traces their ears and noses, and their adolescent our bodies are lined in tight, wavy fibers, all sculpted by way of a mix of moist and needle felting strategies.
Titled “The Invitation,” the smooth, fleecy work stretches roughly 4 toes on either side. Guertin shares with Colossal that she’s within the relationship between sheep and their wool and whether or not people, like sheep, have one thing equally tangible to supply.
