Working throughout assemblage, sculpture, and set up and infrequently in communities, vanessa german (beforehand) steadily returns to like and honesty because the core of her follow and subsequently, her life. She believes love is an “infinite human technology” with the immense potential to catalyze change and mobilize individuals, and it emerges in her work not as a theme or metaphor however as a fabric, named alongside others like rose quartz, Astroturf, and the artist’s personal hair.
As she explains on this dialog, german is allergic to pretense and compartmentalizing. As an alternative, she makes work within the method she lives her life, with an immense ardour for curiosity and care and a deep understanding of what it means to be complete.

“Master Blaster Or, boombox from the 5th dimension,” lapis, pyrite, the sound of affection as discovered within the frequencies of the mineral world, time earlier than time was even time, sapphire, sodalite, sea jasper, the blues, 800 million tears and counting, a miracle, sun-Ră’s golden hand rising up the again to hold the night time of sounds on his infinite and everlasting shoulders, love and grief with no house between them, one thing awestruck and hopeful then, wooden, blue pigment, gold glass beads, the earth, the celebs, the solar and the moon, water, the outrageous mouth of the human coronary heart, the start and the top switching locations on a regular basis, the glory of music, being awake and alive
