Paulina Porizkova is opening up about her separation from Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, his shocking death, and how she discovered she was cut from his will.
In an exclusive preview of “Red Table Talk,” obtained by USA TODAY, the supermodel, 54, said she was choosing clothing for the coffin when she found an envelope that said “this is the will and testament.”
“In his writing it said, ‘I will not provide for my wife because she abandoned me,'” she told “Red Table Talk” co-hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris.
Pironkova said she was initially shocked by the claim as they were still living together when he was recovering from surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. The pair share sons Jonathan Raven, 29, and Oliver Orion, 24.
“That’s a lie. … Somebody made a mistake,” she recalled thinking.

Porizkova and Ocasek were married in 1989 and had been “peacefully separated” since 2017. They had begun divorce proceedings before Ocasek died at age 75.
The rocker was found dead and his New York residence on Sept. 15, 2019. The next day, a medical concluded he died of natural causes and suffered from high blood pressure, a chronic lung condition and a buildup of fats, cholesterol and other substances his arteries.
Porizkova’s memoir “No Filter: The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful,” out now, dives further into the couple’s marriage.

In the “Red Table Talk” clip, Porizkova also lamented that choosing the clothing for the coffin was “really rough.”
“I never realized how sad shoes were … Just opening the closet and seeing his shoes,” she said.
A month after Ocasek’s death, the mom of two told “CBS Sunday Morning” the Cars singer had also cut two of his sons from a previous marriage from his will and how it’s made her grieving process “really tricky.”
“I would love to just be able to be sad and miss him, and not also feel this incredible hurt at his betrayal,” Porizkova said at the time. “I feel betrayed. I sure do.”
“I’m never going to get an answer,” she added.
