The glitz, the glam, the couples! In addition to metallic shine, feathered designs and opulent ensembles, Monday night’s Met Gala was full of polished celebrity pairs hitting the red carpet looking lavish and lucky to be in love.
The 2022 Met Gala, co-chaired by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda, invited celebrities and fashion icons to bring their own takes on the “Gilded Glamour” theme. There was plenty of black lace, metallic shine, feathered designs and dramatic shades to be found on the red carpet.
What power couples were present? We’ve rounded up some of the biggest star duos:
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner
Sophie Turner took to the red carpet in a studded black gown by Louis Vuitton and long red locks, posing to show off her baby bump. Husband Joe Jonas looked cool in a white jacket with lace detailing.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, welcomed their first child, daughter Willa, back in July 2020.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively turned heads in her shimmering metallic gown and copper train, courtesy of Versace. By her side was a slickly dressed Ryan Reynolds, looking dapper as usual.
And that wasn’t her only look. Halfway up the stairs, Lively had the top of her train unfurl to reveal a second cape, in sparkling teal. Her copper tiara, she told Vogue on the carpet, completed her homage to the Statue of Liberty. Like Lady Liberty’s crown, Lively’s tiara, designed by Lorraine Schwartz, contains seven spikes representing the seven continents as well as “inclusivity” and “freedom,” she said.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union
Dwyane Wade showed off some skin, opting for no shirt under his all-white suit ensemble. Gabrielle Union added some sparkle with a silvery gown with red floral detail.
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz
Newlyweds Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz were all smiles on the red carpet.
Beckham, the 23-year-old son of soccer star David Beckham and Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham, married actress and model Peltz, 27, in an elaborate wedding in April at a mansion owned by the bride’s father, billionaire Nelson Peltz.
On Monday’s red carpet. Peltz swapped wedding white for a hot pink gown by while her new hubby wore an ivory suit.
Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson
Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson looked dashing in their Gilded Glamour attire. With Jackson in an understated tux, all eyes were on Turner-Smith’s sparkling ensemble, thinly painted eyebrows and matching jewelry, which she showed off by taking her husband by the arm.
Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian
Two days after making their red carpet debut as a couple at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Kim Kardashian and Davidson were back at it.
The couple known as “Kete” – until we can come up with something better? – stepped out for their second red carpet together. Kim borrowed the original skin-tight, sparkling nude Bob Mackie dress that Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy, nearly 60 years to the day after the iconic actress first did.
Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian
PDA alert! Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian didn’t shy away from sharing some smooches on the red carpet.
David Harbour and Lily Allen
David Harbour and Lily Allen also got close on the carpet. Harbour in a top hat and Allen in a feathery frock.
