For Queensland-based artist Shane Drinkwater, self-imposed restrictions present a key place to begin for works he creates in ink, pen, acrylic, and collage—all the time in a sq. format measuring about 50 by 50 centimeters. Arrows, crosses, dots, and numbers construct linear components and patterns, whereas major colours present the inspiration for the occasional inexperienced or gradient.
Drawing on a lifelong love for maps, ciphers, and astronomical charts, Drinkwater continues to discover the chances of fictional cosmic networks (beforehand).
