Apply for the 2026 Arts/Business Residency on the John Michael Kohler Arts Middle

The John Michael Kohler Arts Middle’s famend Arts/Business program is accepting purposes by February 28, 2025, for 12 residency openings in 2026. 

For 50 years, this prestigious program has hosted a whole bunch of artists from 25 nations. Arts/Business supplies the distinctive alternative to discover new concepts, processes, and views whereas creating work utilizing the assets, know-how, and supplies of the Kohler Co. manufacturing facility in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Arts/Business artists are given the time and house to pursue their artistic course of in studios situated in Kohler Co.’s industrial foundry and pottery. Artists-in-residence obtain 24-hour entry to studio house, industrial supplies, use of apparatus, technical help, photographic providers, housing, round-trip transportation, and a modest weekly stipend.

Expertise working in steel or clay is just not required. Arts/Business welcomes artists from all disciplines who’re inquisitive about how industrial processes and environments can form their work. Artists-in-residence have entry to cutting-edge services and applied sciences that may broaden the boundaries of their observe.

4 artists are in residence at a time, two within the Kohler Co. pottery and two within the foundry. Residents are anticipated to decide to a full three-month residency interval. The emphasis of the residency is on artists utilizing new supplies and processes in a hands-on approach whereas constructing relationships with the expert craftspeople who work for Kohler Co.
