This is not a drill: the queen of pop has arrived.

After much speculation about whether Taylor Swift would be attending the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards or not, we are *delighted* to inform you that Miss Evermore has graced the black carpet with her presence. Taylor skipped the VMAs last year, despite being nominated for multiple awards, but she is officially present this year and we’re totally freaking out about it.

Taylor stopped traffic on the MTV carpet with her highly-anticipated appearance, wearing an Oscar de la Renta mini dress made entirely out of strands of silver crystals. The singer rocked a nude slip underneath, obvs, but the celeb-loved naked dress trend is still going strong. Taylor’s itty-bitty sparkling dress featured a halter neckline, strands of crystals that draped over her arms for an off-the-shoulder effect, and an insane open back decorated with two strands of — you guessed it — crystals. Even her shoes matched the rest of her blinged-out look.

Taylor wore her hair in a simple, slicked-back bun with her signature bangs swept to the side to show off the intricate detailing of her dress and the matching silver drop earrings. She posed for the cameras with an extreme winged cat-eye liner decorated with silver eye gems and finished off her glam with her signature red lipstick.

We had hoped that the 2022 MTV Awards might’ve been where Taylor and her longtime bf Joe Alwyn (lie, since-2016 longtime) made their red carpet debut, but the two have never walked a carpet together so it makes sense that Taylor decided to slay the VMAs red carpet solo.

We’re only an hour in and Taylor has already snagged a win for Best Long Form Video. She is also favored to win the MTV 2022 Video of the Year Award for “All Too Well: The Short Film,” featuring Dylan O’Brien (who is also attending the VMAs this year, looking very handsome in a Bode suit) and Sadie Sink. We’ll see what happens — we’ve got our fingers crossed for you, Taylor!
